Rich has been married to his wife, Ruth, for 25 years. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education with a specialization in Learning Support from Geneva College and a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Nyack College.

They have two sons. The elder son, Jeremiah, is pursuing a career in law enforcement. Their younger son, Jordan, attends Ambridge Area High School. He plays football and basketball and loves participating in the church’s youth group activities.
